Serendipity & Me

The Story Behind this Webpage...

   This is a webpage for my L.A class. We were given a lot of choices, and I choose to design a webpage. My webpage was to be about a book I have read fairly recently, and I choose Serendipity & Me. The requirments for this project were to create a website from a characters point of view, and how they would create a website. The paragraphs below is the required writing piece to finish the project (we had to write a paragraph for each page and explain what we did and why we did it).

 

 

 

   This is a website designed around the character Sara, from Serendipity and Me;  by Judith L. Roth.

    My first page, the blog, is how a 6th grade girl would tell the story of her life in words. Each post is a major part of the book, from finding the little white kitten, Serendipity, or finding her dad in his world of grief. I chose to add this because it is very much like a 6th grade girl.

   My second page is her biography, a short summary of her life. This page helps us understand the character Sara, to help know a little more about her life, and a little more explaining when needed. It contains some important imformation not included anywhere else. 

  My third page is about Sara's family. It may seem small, but it is very important in the story, and the life of Sara. This page helps the reader's understand a little bit more of what happen to Sara's mom, and relate to Sara from their own life.

  My fourth page is about Sara's main interests. What she likes and why she likes it. I only included the main interests in the story. This helps reader's to feel closer to Sara, like she is a real person, not just a character. 

  My fifth page is about Sara's lifestyle, how old is she, where does she live, and what she is really excited about. This helps readers get into the setting of Sara's story, where she lives how old she is, and these smaller details really help you feel connected to a charater. 

 My last page is what you are reading this very instant, this page is the page that informs you why this website exists. I feel that telling this was a Language Arts project at the beginning would take away the emotional feelings you might feel about Sara, her likes, her life, you may be very simalar, or totally different.

 These are the reasons this website was created, and why the things on it are included.
